job hunting

just in case any of you were wondering, hunting for jobs really sucks. i mean, really really sucks. in denver it goes something like this:
get up.
shower.
walk 20 minutes into downtown.
be sweaty.
look dissheveled.
tell someone that i just moved to denver (as if they didn't know that by the accent) and am looking for a job.
ask if they have an application or know of any positions available.
get funny looks b/c you're a sweaty Arkansan.
leave.
go to the next place.
repeat steps above.
get frustrated.
go back and look for more jobs on craigslist.
repeat steps above for days on end.

but it's all good. i mean, i can see the Rockies from here, right?

Bake Sale success story

Thanks to all who showed up and contributed to the Westward Ho! Gas Money Fund for Displaced Foosball Addicts on Saturday night. To those who partook but failed to contribute to the charity fund, I say only this: karma, punks.

After a gutwrenching game between the US and Italy - and an equally tense Trival Pursuit nailbiter that followed (and which I won, of course) - it was nice to finally get to see some of you who've been hiding in your caves of late. Oh wait, maybe that was me. Anyway, it was good to see everybody, and to those I didn't see...you'll either have to come to Tulsa this weekend for Summer Solstice or to Denver sometime before the end of the year. A special shout-out to the fine mothers of myself and H.H. Henningsen for the delectable baked goods and to Boulevard Bread Co for their gracious support.

Denver, anybody?

Mark your calendars ladies and gentlemen. Starting July 1, you have until the end of the year to make it out to Denver to visit me and Nic (aka Batman and Robin, respectively...for those of you who've been keeping up with us via email). I'll be heading out in late June and will be followed Senor Velvet a la early July. We'll be shacking up in a little loft apartment near Coors Field on 22nd and Larimer. According to our personal Real Estate Scout Exraordinaire in the Denver Metro Area, Ms. Kayla Wagner, our place will offer the following amenities to interested guests:
- ugly green carpet
- exposed brick walls
- great centralized location
- stumbling distance from Coors Field
- Farmer's Market across the street
- 2 blocks from Delta Blues bar
and within the building itself...
- hair salon
- Whiskey Bar

We've yet to check up on the Denver Ultimate scene, but given that Boulder is home to the UPA, I think there should be some decent disc being played out there. And we're still coming to terms that we might not be named Sue for this Club Championship Series.

And if anybody knows a place we can get a foosball table for cheap, give a shout.
